This website evolved out of a pretty simple idea. I am a gigantic comic book fan and really wished it was easier to find the kind of articles and web content that I wanted to.
Let's say I just read a great comic by, oh let's just say, Geoff Johns. I might then want to read a little bit about him or about his creative process. Well, the way it used to work is that I would have to go to dozens of the different prominent comic book websites, and either use their "search", which many of the sites don't have and when they do, it can be useless, or just scan the websites archives manually, which can be more work that it's worth.
This website is an answer to that problem. How To Make Comics is an attempt to archive all of the comic book related content on the internet, tag it with keywords, and make it search-able. So now all you'll have to do to get that Geoff Johns content is come here and click on his name. You'll be brought to a giant list of features relating to him, which include interviews (text, audio, and video), articles, scripts, comics of his that may have been posted online, and much more.
You can also view the resources I've archived here by "Type". That means you can click on the word "podcast", for example, and be brought to a page full of podcast content. Or you could click on "blog" to see a big list of comic book related blogs.
On top of that, users can vote on each resource. The more votes they get, the more other users will know how much they should check it out.
And finally, if you become a registered user, you can maintain a list of bookmarks. You can bookmark any resource, so that way you can find it quickly later on.
